The fifth book in John Scalzi’s OLD MAN’S WAR series, THE HUMAN DIVISION is being serialized by Tor and we’ve been very excited to see its success.  The book will be published in hardcover this May.

Karen Miller has delivered the first book in her new epic series, THE TARNISHED CROWN to Orbit and we expect great things when it is published in Spring 2014.

Fans of MaryJanice Davidson should get ready for a great new series, DÉJÀ VU, which was just licensed to Berkley in a 2 book deal.

With got some exciting new client news.  One of this year’s Edgar nominees, Al Lamanda has signed with us and we are shopping his John Bekker series now.  The second book in the series, SUNRISE is coming from Five Star this Summer and two more John Bekker novels are ready to follow it.

Judd Trichter has delivered the final draft of LOVE IN THE AGE OF MECHANICAL REPRODUCTION to Thomas Dunne Books.

Kay Kenyon’s A THOUSAND PERFECT THINGS will be coming from Premier Digital Publishing this Fall.

Gail Martin has sold the next two books in the ASCENDANT KINGDOMS series to Orbit.

Mel Odom has sold a three book military SF series to Voyager entitled MAKAUM.

Lucy Monroe has moved her single title career to Grand Central in a three book deal entitled THE CALKIRN CHRONICLES.

The second book in James M. Tabor’s ‘Hallie Leland’ series, FROZEN SOLID is coming from Random House in April.  The first book THE DEEP ZONE just finished an impressive showing in a promotionally priced e-book edition.

Caldecott winner Eric Rohmann has re-united with Candace Fleming on two new picture book projects, SLEEP IN YOUR OWN BED for Schwartz and Wade and BULLDOZER’S BIRTHDAY for Atheneum.

• JAMES CAMBIAS handed in the final draft of his first novel, A DARKLING SEA to David Hartwell at Tor

• The first UKeditions of IAN DOUGLAS’s military SF titles are coming from Harper UK

• GAIL MARTIN launches a new series, ‘The Ascendent Kingdoms’ with ICE FORGED in February which we have very high hopes for.

• THE HUMAN DIVISION, the fifth book in John Scalzi’s OLD MAN’S WAR series is coming in May but more importantly Tor will be serializing it starting in January.  We just sold Norwegian rights for Old Man’s War, pushing the total to almost 20 countries.

• The second book in Sharon Shinn’s SHIFTING CIRCLE series is out, STILL LIFE WITH SHAPESHIFTER and the first book in the series SHAPE OF DESIRE was named one of Publisher’s Weekly’s best fantasy books of 2012.

• VAUGHN HEPPNER, self-published author of the successful DOOM STAR series is a new addition to the client list.  His follow up series to DOOM STAR the FENRIS series will be published by Amazon Publishing’s 47North imprint, and the DOOM STAR books will soon be available in audiobook from Audible.

•  We’re very excited about selling the first novel by JUDD TRICHTER, LOVE IN THE AGE OF MECHANICAL REPRODUCTION TO Brendan Deneen at St. Martin’s.

• We’ve sold a third book on behalf of EDWARD WILLETT for his forthcoming MASKS series writing as E.C. Blake, which debuts Fall 2013 to Daw.

•  G.A. AIKEN’ ‘Dragon Kin’ series continues to grow, we’ve sold a novella to Kensington and the first 4 books in Korea,

•  We’ve sold a first HQN project for TERRI BRISBIN, an anthology with Brenda Joyce.

• BERTRICE SMALL launches a fantastic new series, with BIANCA (Dutton 10/2012).  Set in RenaisanceItaly, this is a fresh setting for Bertrice’s customary historical romances.

• JAMES M. TABOR has delivered the next book in the ‘Hallie Leland’ series to Random House, FROZEN SOLID for publication in April, 2012 and Russian rights have already been sold.\

•  In the children’s and young adult arena we are very happy to see the 2^nd book in the ‘Katerina Trilogy’  by ROBIN BRIDGES published, THE UNFAILING LIGHT.  Set in Czarist Russia, this paranormal romance series is exceptional.

• ERIC ROHMANN and CANDACE FLEMING’s new picture book OH NO is already in its 3^rd printing and had a great book club sale to Scholastic.

• SNEAKY ART is coming, yes, Marthe Jocelyn’s wonderful craft book SNEAKY ART is coming, from Candlewick in March, 2013.

June 24, 2012 is a very happy day for us, we have two NEW YORK TIMES HARDCOVER BESTSELLERS on this Sunday’s list.

John Scalzi’s REDSHIRTS leads off at #15, congratulations John, this is a wonderful achievement.  MaryJanice Davidson’s UNDEAD AND UNSTABLE, the 11^th volume in her magical Queen Betsy series appears at #29 and she can add at that to her long string of Times bestsellers.  Fans will be happy to know she recently contracted for books 12 and 13 in the series, so every June, you have something to look forward to.

Selling first novels is one of our favorite activities so we are delighted to announce the sale of James Cambias’ A DARKLING SEA to Dave Hartwell at Tor Books.

• James M. Tabor will be delivering the next book in his thriller series featuring Hallie Leland and Will Bowman, THE DARK ZONE to Random House this summer.  The first book, THE DEEP ZONE has been sold in 5 foreign countries and has received spectacular reviews.

• The non-fiction title we’re most excited about is NEW DIMENSIONS IN NONSENSE by Dr. Alexander Unzicker and Sheila Jones, sold to Palgrave/Macmillan.  Has modern physics lost its way?  This book is sure to generate controversy.

• Patty Blount’s YA novel SEND (Sourcebooks, September 2012) has been selected as the Fall 2012 Paperback Pick by the Junior Library Guild.

• Caldecott winner Eric Rohmann returns this Fall, illustrating OH NO, written by Candace Fleming and published by Schwartz and Wade/Random House.  Beautifully illustrated with a fun, captivating storyline this is a picture book that will find its ways into many homes and libraries.

JOHN SCALZI—Tor publishes REDSHIRTS in hardcover June 2012—we’ve just sold the 5^th book in the OLD MAN’S WAR series for publication June 2013.

SHARON SHINN—her break out new series starts in hardcover in March with THE SHAPE OF DESIRE followed by STILL LIFE WITH SHAPE-SHIFTER in October both from Ace.  The Shape of Desire received a starred review in Publishers Weekly.

IAN DOUGLAS—we’ve sold his entire backlist to Harper UK. Douglas is now one of the best selling authors of military SF in the U.S.  His new book STAR CARRIER: SINGULARITY was just released.

GAIL MARTIN—her new series launches with ICE-FORGED in February 2013.  She is Orbit’s top selling fantasy author this month in the U.K.with THE DREAD.

MARYJANICE DAVIDSON—More UNDEAD’S ARE COMING! Berkley has just bought books 12 and 13 in a major deal.

CHRISTINE WARREN—her next book in ‘the Others’ series, ON THE PROWL publishes in March and we just sold a new 3 book series for her to St. Martin’s.

G.A. AIKEN—the 6^th book in the DRAGON KIN series will be published 9/2012 and Kensington is negotiating for 3 more.

ROBIN BRIDGES—her debut series has gone back to press already for THE GATHERING STORM and the second book THE UNFAILING LIGHT will be published January 2013.

ERIC ROHMANN—BONE DOG was Roaring Brook’s top selling picture book this past Fall.
