Ashley Leader joined the agency in 2025 as royalties manager. She holds a master’s in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University, where she studied medieval literature and queerness. At the agency she continues to seek out stories with that trademark medieval combination of earnestness and outright unhinged-ness. In terms of genre, that means tightly-paced and sharply-written fantasy, speculative fiction, horror, and literary fiction.
Some books she’s read and loved lately are N. K. Jemison’s Broken Earth trilogy, Octavia Butler’s Wild Seed, Solvej Balle’s On the Calculation of Volume Vol. I, and Mariana Enríquez’s Things We Lost in the Fire.
