THE ETHAN ELLENBERG
LITERARY AGENCY
March 2008
The first bit of news we’d like to share is
that two popular authors have delivered new books in their currently ongoing
series. MaryJanice Davidson has delivered the 7th book in the
‘Undead’ series, UNDEAD AND UNWORTHY, which will be published by Berkley in
July, 2008.
John Scalzi has delivered the 4th
book set in the Old Man’s War universe, and that book, ZOE’S TALE, will be
coming in August, 2008 from TOR.
In other areas, paranormal romance
continues to excite the public, and we’ve accepted three book renewals for
both Amanda Ashley (Kensington) and Rebecca York (Berkley).
Christine Warren at St. Martin’s continues
to garner fans, her November book HOWL AT THE MOON hit the New York Times
Extended List.
One book we’re particularly excited about
is Whitney Kelly Gaskell’s GOOD LUCK (Bantam 12/08). It’s about a woman who
wins the lottery and whose life changes in wholly unexpected ways.
Poignant, insightful, complex, I feel strongly it’s her best book to date.
I’m proud to report I now represent Lucy
Monroe, and we’ve sold two more books to Kensington for their Brava line,
just as warm, funny and sexy as ever.
In the non-fiction arena Peter Sasgen has
delivered STALKING THE RED BEAR to St. Martin’s. This insider’s look at
cold war American submarine patrols off Russian territory is thrilling
stuff, as close as you’ll ever get to the real hunt for Red October.
Foreign rights continue to be a hot area
for us. On behalf of Ellora’s Cave we’ve secured with our co-agents a 24
book deal in Spain and a 7 book deal in Russia. We’ve had numerous sales in
Japan, France and Germany and we continue to place books in smaller places
that you don’t normally think of when you think foreign sales. Estonia
comes to mind immediately.
We’re proud of our clients’ success and
look forward to your submission.
